Rick Santorum's Job Program

I realize that the transvaginal probe was not St. Ricks  idea, but I think he may be missing out on a golden opportunity. Ooops! Operating one of these things may require something other than home schooling, which brings me to another great idea of Rick's. Home schooling. Translation : unpaid labor. No need to pay teachers when you have your own personal slave, making more slaves and educating them, pretty much insuring that his kids will never be smarter than him. I can't believe that the Koch brothers money can't buy a better candidate than the loonies the Gnarly Old Party are parading around.
It's not bad enough that they raped the economy, now their coming after my vagina.
Too bad Santorium is not a priest. Because Republicans act like they are possessed and in serious need of an excorcism.
There are now seven billion people on the planet and these idiots want to ban contraception. That's right, keep on breeding people! Because unwanted pregnancies keep you in poverty, where they want you. But they don't want to talk about that. They don't talk about jobs or the economy. They are talking about issues that were decided on over twenty years ago. Great strategy. Ban gay marriage, contraception and abortion. Hmmm where have I heard that before? Maybe Nazi Germany? I sure hope Mr. Santorum's daughter's or wife never ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a decision other than "a good thing coming out of something bad" i.e. bearing a rapist's baby or the unthinkable, The Morning After Pill, or an abortion may be desirable. I'm guessing things like that don't happen in St. Rick's world.
600 women are raped in one day, in this country. Violence Against Women in the United States
We don't need Republican candidates making these statistics any higher.

"So It Goes"

Kurt Vonnegut
Been re-reading Slaughterhouse-Five, by Kurt Vonnegut. Kurt Vonnegut - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
He wrote a lot of great things, on the launch of the first Iraqi war he wrote; "All eyes on the president. What a slick way to make people ignore another great depression, Saddam Hussein should launch an attack during the Superbowl." He was right about so many things.
Today in the Guardian I read that the Afghan War has been pretty much sugarcoated, and that's putting it mildly. Spinning Afghanistan, America's longest war | Amy Goodman guardian.co.uk
I got so pissed off when I read this, but it's no surprise words written by Lt Col Danny Davis in his 84-page report, "Dereliction of Duty II: Senior Military Leaders' Loss of Integrity Wounds Afghan War Effort" (pdf).
Apparently nothing but out right lies are coming out of Afghanistan. America's longest war. And for what? Kurt Vonnegut was very vocal about his disgust for "W" and his wars.
There was a government witch hunt about birth control today. Two witches were present, testifying on the side of the inquisition. About the pill! But there's nothing said about vasectomies.(they are still covered) Really? That's what they are talking about in our government. So it goes. Anything to make us look the other way. People are still dying in Bush's crusade. We've got a panel of men making war on women, in THIS country. They will not be happy until American women have the same or less rights than the women of Afghanistan. So why this theater about birth control? When we should be getting out of Afghanistan before another person dies? I don't hear any outcry about any investigation into Lt Col Davis' allegations. I want to know where the Taliban is? In Afghanistan or in our own country?

Are You Experienced?

Why don't we ever hear about this program? 54% of American kids are unemployed. Employment Rate For Young Adults Lowest In 60 Years, Study Says They are facing an economic catastrophe and it doesn't seem like there is any help for them. I went on a search to find out if there were any programs for young adults, who have been so affected by this "Great Recession". I found Job Corps. It began in 1964 under the Department Of Labor, with a mission to help young people 16-24 years old. Every state seems to have a center. What I can figure out the requirements are; you have to be from a family that is on TANF (Temporary Assistance For Needy Families) or can qualify for it. You also have to be a legal resident of the U.S. They also have a Solo Parent Program for single parents. It seems to me that this program is undervalued (because it's for poor people, right?)
It's also underutilized. I am sure this program could be helping many more of  our nations kids, who through no fault of their own are caught up in this economic mess. I am sure that this program is underfunded. So, of course it would need more money and heaven knows we need austerity more than helping these kids. So why don't we just wait until they start rioting in the streets like they did in England under Margaret Thatcher's reign.
Double Deck Bus Burning in London 1981
A result of this was an establishment of the YTS or Youth Training Scheme. Youth Training Scheme - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A program like Job Corps which helped with apprenticeships and other training with a small stipend paid to students. They also got valuable experience, which is something employers want in this country, making it very difficult for a young adult with no experience to get hired. Here is a program that we already have, but I have not heard one word about it, and very little about the job situation for our young people. Until the Occupy movement. Thankfully, they have been peaceful. But I wouldn't count on it staying that way. We can make a choice to help. Or we can have something like the riots in England, or worse.

It's Called Networking

What a surprise I got this morning reading The Washington Post. Capitol Assets: Some legislators send millions to groups connected to their relatives - The Washington Post
If there is a person who doesn't know that politician's family members benefit in all kinds of ways, from their powerful relative, I'd sure like to meet them.  But I guess in Washington, this is news. I wonder if this has anything to do with the Susan G. Komen scandal and all the people on the board of directors there, being related in some fashion, to politicians under the Bush administration? Nepotism is rampant and it is everywhere. The dismal economy and lack of jobs make it very hard to get employment unless you know someone, or you are related to someone. Isn't "Networking" another way of saying, make friends with someone, or be related to someone, so they will hire you? It's no surprise to me, that wives, sons, daughters, grandchildren, you name it, are able to get a nice, cushy job, with all sorts of perks because daddy is a senator. Meaning lots of better educated and more qualified people can just suck it, because fortunate sons and daughters are related to someone that gets "big government" dollars and gives them to peoplrations. And we wonder how this country got into the state it's in. There goes all that puritan ethic of work hard and pull yourself up by your bootstraps bullshit. Everyone has a fair chance. Really? This is the lie we have been fed for eons. People still believe it. As a matter of fact, if you get laid off and find yourself unemployed there are people who actually think you deserved it somehow. Because your lazy or you didn't have the right training. (remember when companies actually trained their employees?) Somehow it's all your fault. Maybe, because you aren't related to a politician and that's your fault too. I wonder if there is some kind of correlation between the fact that people's relatives are hired instead of more qualified individuals and that is why no one has to take responsibility when things go wrong, there isn't any innovation, it's all about maintaining the status quo. I have seen this especially in the education system where school board officials relatives are hired over more qualified people. That's why America is turning into a nation of dumbasses. Junior gets a job as a teacher, not little miss nobody who graduated Summa. Networking is the way to get the job done people! I can remember a time, way back in the 70's, if you applied for a job and you were related to someone, they wouldn't hire you, but not anymore. I could really use a job that pays well and has great benefits. But, if that means I have to be related to Rick Santorum, I guess I'd rather be unemployed.

The Cancer Of Komen Quits!

Finally, after a week of controversy, Karen Handel resigned. Maybe we should thank her for her vendetta against Planned Parenthood. The unintended consequence of which was people scrutinizing exactly who is in charge at Susan G. Komen Foundation. Obviously, people who don't give a rat's ass about poor women, who's only option for medical treatment is Planned Parenthood, unless you count the emergency room, which is another favorite of uninsured, desperate people. Thanks to not having a public option.  Karen Handel might want to look at that, since she now finds herself unemployed. In this country, employers provide healthcare at a staggering cost. Maybe, with all that free time, Ms. Handel could volunteer at a local Planned Parenthood, then she might find out that the clinics are very busy providing healthcare for pregnant women and delivering babies. She would probably be surprised to find that out. You would think the only thing Planned Parenthood did was supply abortions.
Now The Komen Foundation should get rid of all the people earning millions of dollars in salaries and spending very little on actually finding "the cure". Yeah, go on and sue me. All of this makes me wonder how many non-profits are thinly disguised lobbyists for some political party or other.

Trampoline, A New Method For Space Travel!

"I really believe that we should care about the very poor unlike Governor Romney. Both Governor Romney and Barack Obama seem to believe that a quote – safety net – is all the poor need. I don't believe that. What the poor need is a trampoline so they can spring up and quit being poor." - Newt GingRich
A trampoline has a safety net. I am surprised Newt didn't suggest a pogo stick. I can't believe the crap that comes out of this guy's mouth. Spring up and quit being poor! Maybe we can get jobs on Newt's colony on the moon, utilizing this new "trampoline technology". What would be even funnier is Newt's fat ass actually on a trampoline.
Update on the Susan G. Komen Foundation publicity nightmare; It's exactly like I wrote in the previous post, maybe worse. It looks like Ari Fleischer (George Bush's former press secretary) was responsible for interviewing Karen Handel for the V.P. position at the Susan G. Komen foundation. EXCLUSIVE: Ari Fleischer Secretly Involved In Komen Strategy On Planned Parenthood | ThinkProgress
The Republicity morons are firmly entrenched in this organization. You can bet that the salaries of the people at the top run into the millions. I wonder if the people donating to this and other organizations realize that? Someone is definitely profiting from a "non-profit" organization.
Second Update; I have discovered that some board members, specifically Jane Abraham, is married to the former Secretary Of Energy to President George W. Bush, Spencer Abraham. Also Stephanie Siegel, wife of the former Ambassador to the Bahamas, also under George W. Bush. The Susan G. Komen Foundation also uses their donation dollars to sue any organization that uses the words, "The Cure" in any way. Susan G. Komen Foundation Elbows Out Charities Over Use Of The Word 'Cure'
Yeah, it's way worse than I thought.

"The Poor Have A Safety Net."

Here's One More Hole. Too Bad He Can't Do Anything About The One In His Head.
They may have a safety net, but it just got a little smaller. Thanks to Karen Handel, Vice President of Susan G. Komen Foundation and endorsed by Mitt Romney in her run for Governor of Georgia in 2008. When I read about The Susan G. Komen Foundation pulling funding from Planned Parenthood, all I could think was, how did Karen Handel go from being Secretary of the State of Georgia to Vice President of Public Policy for Susan G. Komen Foundation? One of the founders of Komen, Nancy Brinker has strong GOP ties, she was Ambassador to Hungary under George W. Bush. Handel was Deputy Chief of Staff to Marilyn Quayle. Karen Handel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Also, when Handel was appointed to her position as V. P. of Public Policy, she created new rules, this decision came after the Koman Foundation unveiled a partnership with the policy making arm of the George W. Bush Presidential Library. Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Don't think "W" and his cronies have gone quietly into the night. I think it's really interesting, on the heels of the Affordable Healthcare Act and the new birth control guidelines, with free birth control being offered to women who have health insurance, now screening funding has been cut off to Planned Parenthood, by the GOP nutjobs that run the Susan G. Komen Foundation, because of some Republican named Stearns on the House Oversight Committee, Planned Parenthood is supposedly under investigation for using federal funds for abortion. Which they don't. Is it just me? Why are these religious freaks in charge of women's breast health. It's hard enough when you are insured to run around and get those tests done. I can't imagine what it's like, for someone living in poverty who's only access to screenings or any reproductive healthcare is a Planned Parenthood Clinic. Thank You Karen Handel, for keeping your sisters down.

Romney's Bitch, She's on the left.
